"I think it overdid it" - Jackson Holliday returns in Major League in the most spectacular way possible

What a comeback from Jackson Holliday! The MLB Pipeline's top-ranked prospect faced lots of criticism from both fans and experts for his failed stint with the Baltimore Orioles earlier this season. After going 2-for-34 in his first 10 major league games, he was optioned to the minors.  It clearly indicated that Holliday needed time for big-league level; last night was the day.

He hit his first homer, a grand slam, at Camden Yards against the Toronto Blue Jays, contributing four RBIs in his team's 10-4 win on Wednesday. It brought the O's season record to 65-44, giving Holliday the much-needed redemption opportunity he's been looking for a long time.

"I think it overdid it, to come back here and help the team win, can't imagine things better," Holliday said about his first major league home run.

They'll next face the Cleveland Guardians for a four-game series at Progressive Feild starting Thursday.

Most anticipated duel of top rookies awaits

Now that Jackson Holliday is back in form, it'll be a more thrilling journey from here on. There's no doubt the Orioles will give him a starting spot, especially after last night's performance. He now has to face veterans of the game to prove himself.

However, it'll be more interesting when Holliday faces the Pittsburgh Pirates All-Star rookie, Paul Skenes, one of the sensational pitchers of this season. Skenes has already shown his ability against the MVPs like Shohei Ohtani and Cody Bellinger. Skenes also won their first clash during the Spring training session, resulting in Holliday getting struck out.

However, things are different now, and the stakes are much higher. This is a major league stage and both of them are representing probable playoff contenders. Will be Holliday who'll have his revenge, or the Skenes will have the last, answer will be on this year's postseason or in the 2025 season since there are no remaining series left for those two teams this season at this point.
