Shohei Ohtani: The New Sensation of MLB

Baseball gave us many Prodigies like Pujos, Trout, Judge, M. Machado, Tatis jr. And Kersaw, Cole, deGrom, Sale etc who become icons to youth. But this Japanese player born to take stuffs on another level. MLB was never this interesting to watch until Shohei Ohtani took the mound. 

Breaking records is common considering when a talented player is playing. All great names become famous when they create or break something. But What did this 28-years old LAA player did that make him so Sensational? 

Shohei is famous for his two-way playing that gives a team huge advantage in-term of batting strength without compromising pitching power. Popularly known as "Show-Time",and he's good at his job. 

Ohtani played for Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters of Nippon Professional Baseball's (NPB) Pacific League in 2012 draft and continued to so till 2017, then he began the career in Major League with Los Angeles Angels . He has now a $8.5 million deal of two-year with the LAA which expires at the end of the season. After that, Shohei will be eligible for a final year of salary arbitration, effectively entering the process as two players, a pitcher and hitter.

RECORDS CREATE AND BREAK BY SHOHEI: 

With many living legends and probable hall of famers like M. Trout, M. Cabrera, J. Votto, B. Harper, A. Pujos, F. Freeman, J. Soto as Hitters and Karsew, Sale, Verlander, M. Scherzer , Cole as a Pichers one has to do very special something to register his name among them. And that is exactly what Ohtani did. He not only break something which set him on the road to be legend but also create something which makes him new Sensation of America's favorite Sport.

The Los Angeles Angles starting roaster SP and DH position player Shohei Ohtani last year in 2021 registered himself as SP of All-Star Game as well as one of the seed player in Home-run Derby. Although he lost to Soto in 1st round but the impact he left on ground and heart of baseball lovers never faded. He gained immense fame for a foreign origin player to play and dominted a sport to that extend, even fans started to compare him with legendary Bob Ruth. Whether he is better than Bob or not, is a controversy but one thing is clear that he makes it possible what every professional to kids ever dreams of  Strike out a Batter, then Hit a Home-run. 

To make it more tough for competitors the "Show-Time" maintained his form this year too. Like 2021, everyone is hoping to see The Show once again which made him winner of AL Silver Slugger, Baseball America Major League Player of the Year 2021, Edgar Martinez Outstanding DH of the Year, AL MVP and many more. 

This year Ohtani already started to decorate his stage with his 111 strikeouts over 81 innings pitched which makes him the first Angels pitcher to record 110 K's in the first half in fewer than 100 innings as well as Shohei passed legendary japanese MLB player Ichiro Suzuki for most HRs hit by a Japanese-born for 2nd position. He recently got 1000K's as nice addition to his marvelous achievement book.

What he has stored in his sleeve, only the God and Ohtani knows but one thing is confirm that he is already on the road to greatness and that road is long with many records to conquer and build.
