MLB Divisions and Postseason Updates: September 2023
Fans are exited as Regular season is coming to an end and from October Postseason will be start with new format and schedule. Atlanta Braves already has secured a place in Playoffs as National League (NL) Division's no.1 seed with Baltimore Orioles and Los Angeles Dodgers (LAD) next in line. Wild Card games will also be in October and baseball enthusiastic can't wait to see how Postseason games will unfold. So, make sure to check your team's status on the list.
September Update of Division Matches:
Current Standings:
National League:
East Division: Braves are currently leading East division of NL with 94 wins and with PCT of 0.653 highest in Both the Division. Followed by Phillies in 2nd with 79 wins and Marlins next in line with 74 wins. Both Mets and Washinton Nationals are in bottom of the chart with 65 wins each. Atlanta Braves is the first team to qualify for the Playoffs from NL as first seed.
Central Division: Central division of NL is in hand of Brewers with 80 wins. Second-in-line is Cubs with 78 wins while Reds with 74 wins is placed third. Pirates and Cardinals have taken bottom places with 66 wins and 63 wins respectively.
West Division: Leader of West division is Dodgers (LAD) with 87 wins and PCT of 0.608, second highest in NL. While Arizona D-Backs and Giants are next to each other with 76 wins and 74 wins accordingly after LAD, Padres and Colorado Rockies are occupying last spaces with just 68 wins and 51 wins respectively. Dodgers are next in line to qualify for Playoffs.
American League:
East Division: East division of AL is in the care of Orioles with 91 with 0.636 PCT which is second best among all the divisions. With 89 and CTP of 0.614, second best in Both the leagues, Rays are one of the high potential candidates for upcoming Playoffs. Then Blue Jays took third place in the table with 80 wins, while forth is Red Sox with 73 wins. Another bad season for Yankees (NYY) as with 71 wins, it is at end of the table.
Central Division: Twins with 75 wins has taken the first spot in Central Division of AL. And Guardians with Detroit Tigers took second and third spots with 68 and 66 wins. Both White Sox and Kansas City Royals had an awful season this year as they won only 55 and 44 matches in total.
West Division: Astros are in top position of West in AL with 82 wins, followed by both Texas Rangers as well as Mariners who have won 79 matches. Despite Ohtani's brilliant season, Los Angles Angels (LAA) got fourth place and fifth is Oakland Athletics with only 45 match winnings.

Post Season Updates:
Wild Card Series:
As per officials, Post Season games will start from October 3, with Wild Card series. According to new schedule of Major league Baseball (MLB), Seed 3 to 4 from both AL and NL will compete for spot in Division Series. As it stands now, the probable games will be in between Twins vs Blue Jays and Rays vs Mariners of AL, while from NL it'll in Brewers vs D-backs and Phillies vs Cubs.
Division Series:
Winners of Wild Card games will get the chance to play against Seed 1 and 2 from their respective leagues in Division Series on October 7, and then winners of this series will from both divisions will meet in League Championship Series, starting from 15th October. From October 27, the league champions will go to the World Series to be the best in the World in 2023.
Qualifying Teams:
Arizona Braves already clinched a spot in Playoffs in NL. For next spot potential candidates are Dodgers and Orioles. With few machers left in regular season, teams are getting desperate to secure a spot in Postseason which is making fans hyped even more.
It is almost certain that which teams will play in Playoffs but in a games like baseball you can never be sure about results. Players fighting for a shot in World Title, making games more interesting. Upcoming month of October will be huge for MLB fans around the world.
